|Botox without the injections|
Technological innovation in Liège's science park: STX-Med Sprl has developed the first ever cranial electrotherapy device.
The effectiveness of electrotherapy on the body has long been recognised, be it to combat pain (analgesia) by acting on the nerves, or to stimulate the muscles. However, never before has electrotherapy been used on the head. Thanks to a technological breakthrough, STX-Med has developed ultra-precise parameters capable of acting on the head in order to deliver rapid treatment for headaches.
During the development process, it was noted that there was also a relaxation of the muscles in the central and upper part of the face. This marked muscular relaxation in turn helps to reduce wrinkles. It was this revelation that gave rise to Safetox®, a device in the shape of spectacles that works via an electrode positioned on the forehead.
Safetox causes the muscles in the central and upper part of the face to relax significantly. With the anterior muscles relaxed, the posterior muscles (posterior auricular and occipital muscles) become more dominant. These pull on the ears and the skin of the forehead.
The result is a type of active facelift with opening-up of the face, the disappearance of tension lines and a reduction in deep wrinkles. The effect is surprising, with a reduction in the depth of wrinkles of up to 13% from the first session onwards.
